Mpigi District Woman Member of Parliament, Teddy Nambooze has asked Pregnant mother’s to always seek medical guidance from Health Worker to ensure that there is limited mortality amongst those who go to deliver.
The MP who visited Ssekiwunga Health Center III and Ggolo Health Center III, in Mpigi also advised women on how they can be prepared well enough, equipped with the most pressing and immediate necessities as they await delivery.
“We need to first comfort them, for it is not a crime to be pregnant. It is instead a blessing and should thank God for that.” She said.
Together with the Brotherly Love Foundation, the MP who is also a member of the Foundation delivered a number of items from their Savings, donate to the vulnerable pregnant mothers.
“We also appeal to the other members of society. You may be having food. Learn to share with the society that is in need.” She adds.
The foundation together with the MP delivered among others, basins, soap, among other utilities. The team also asked the mothers at two health facilities to use the utilities optimumly and keep neat, clean to ensure that the mothers and the children yet to be born are all safe.
Many parents according to studies, do not plan to have their children. It is upon such background that the MP and the Foundation advocated that society hold such mothers in high regard, for they contribute to the country’s Human Resource.
They also asked women with the more children to engage health workers on family planning and better maternity processes.
Ggolo and Ssekiwunga Health Center III are situated in the outskirts of the rural Mpigi District. They act as an immediate point of interaction between patients, especially pregnant mothers and the health workers.
As they do, the Leadership in Mpigi wants government to fully equip them to ensure that they handle all emergencies and illnesses in the remote villages where they are situated.
